Croatian Centre of UNIMA

The Croatian Centre of UNIMA was founded in 1992 as a member of the international organization UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette), which brings together people from all over the world, who contribute to the development of puppetry. The organization carries out a whole series of activities that contribute to the development of puppetry art. In addition to the biennial SLUK puppetry festival where professional awards are given, UNIMA organizes international exchange programs, issues publications dedicated to puppetry art, celebrates the International Day of Puppetry every year and awards several prizes as part of major festivals such as Theatre Actors Festival.

Branko Mihaljević Children's Theatre in Osijek

Branko Mihaljević Children’s Theatre in Osijek began its work in 1950 as the Pioneer Theatre in which amateur child actors performed in plays. By decision of the Municipality of Osijek, the theatre received professional status in 1958 and the name “Children’s Theatre, Ognjen Prica”, which it held until 1991. year. In 2006, by decision of the Osijek City Administration and City Council, the Children’s Theatre in Osijek was named after the prominent Osijek musician Branko Mihaljević. Throughout its history, the Theatre has had in its repertoire valuable works by Croatian and international authors, which have been realized as puppet and drama plays by prominent directors and visual artists. Furthermore, we have especially cherished work with children. Also, the Theatre has performed at all relevant festivals, both in Croatia and abroad, and has received numerous awards and recognitions for its artistic achievements.
